Throughout my educational journey, I have had a variety of experiences that have influenced my aspirations to become a teacher. From the intimate, close-knit environment of my primary school in Lions Bay, where the forest served as our natural outdoor classroom, to the two-month stay my family had in Belize during my Elementary school years where we were immersed in the local community and schools, each experience has left a lasting mark on my perspective. During high school, playing volleyball on the school team, club teams, and in the Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence, taught me teamwork and dedication. However, it was my transition to university that truly ignited my passion for learning. As a four-time Dean’s List recipient, I discovered the value of academic achievement and how hard work pays off. These diverse experiences have shaped my commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments that honour the unique backgrounds and experiences of each student. As a future educator, I aspire to create opportunities for students to explore, collaborate, and grow, drawing inspiration from their local community and the global community. Through dedication, empathy, and a holistic approach to education, I aim to empower students to reach their full potential and become active, compassionate members of their communities.
